Except for experienced Pink Boxing & Rebelle Muaythai sessions are always part of a structured program; – we don’t offer casual bookings . This is because we aren’t like the big “Globo Gym” monopolies that see you as just another number. We need commitment to these programs to keep AWF programs alive and running. Think of it as making an appointment each week, to treat yourself and work toward your goals.
PROGRAM. (via email) Our sessions don’t happen by magic. We keep our classes at a boutique size so nobody feels crowded, and we plan in advance with trainers and staff.
We understand that sometimes, life happens. That’s why we may offer a ONCE-OFF MAKE UP SESSION if you cancel less than 8 hours prior to a class. This is something we don’t have to do, but we get that sometimes shit hits the fan. It puts us as a business in the red, but we try to accommodate.
When you cancel a MAKE UP SESSION less than 8 hours prior, we lose out double time. This is why a MAKE UP SESSION is a ONCE-OFF and no refunds or additional MAKE UP SESSIONs are offered in these circumstances.
If you can’t attend a MAKE UP SESSION or even when you cancel a regular session last minute, it’s a bit like asking for a refund on tickets to see a band you missed. Would you message the band two weeks later and ask them for a refund, to play again, or for free tickets to their next show because you couldn’t make it? Maybe if you were a dickhead, you would. But most of us wouldn’t.
The same applies for the organisation we put in for our AWF and ARF sessions. Your session costs pay our trainers and staff for their time, who work hard for your benefit regardless of if you show up or not.
We do offer refunds, MAKE UP SESSIONs and credits for sessions cancelled within a reasonable time frame, as outlined in our Terms & Conditions.
AWF and ARF strive to be as flexible and accommodating as possible, where possible. Please remember that we are a small business doing the best we can for our clients and staff.

Bookings are essential and subject to availability, sadly you can’t just rock up and wing it.
In some cases you can join the wait list and/ or join our mailing list! Sessions may change with the introduction of each program/ or seasonally. By joining the mailing list, you’ll stay up to date with new programs and session availability. We also have a bunch of pop up stuff like workshops happening all the time, which we send out regularly to our email subscribers. Always feel free to send us an email if there’s a class you’ve got your heart set on, and we’ll see what we can do.
We understand life is not always predictable! In most cases you can book in, and pay a discounted fee, or do make-up sessions at other time. However this is always pending the session type and availability. Chuck us an email to find out what we can do for you.

As a women’s only gym alternative we recognise that being a woman isn’t just about what parts you are born with and welcome transgender women to come and sweat it out with us.
If you call yourself a woman, no matter what that looks like, the door is wide open.
We strive to create an environment where us gals can feel comfortable, safe and free from discrimination and have a rockin’ good time while doing it. What we’re (not so quietly) saying is that we’re QUEER FRIENDLY. And more than that, some of us are queer so there’s no need to leave your rainbow coloured hairband at home (metaphoric or otherwise).
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer, Asexual or just plain Sexual, we’re with you.
And for you. And in case you were wondering… We’re not gonna eye-ball ya and ask if you’re pregnant just because you look like a woman who’d be into that, assume you’re straight or ask if anyone is planning a spring wedding – unless you want to share it with us of course!
We will ask you what your fave music is, what kinds of sessions you want and who you wanna be in the world cos we actually give a shit. Seriously. Pull your sneakers on and get down to our rippin’ sessions. We’re totally rad and ready to rock your mind and your body!
Group sizes at AWF are boutique, with around 4 – 16 gals (or less) pending the class type. We focus on keeping our group sizes small and intimate, so everybody gets the attention they need and to build a sense of belonging. We love building a social and team focused environment to make everyone feel comfortable and encourage each other.
We get that group fitness may be intimidating, but don’t ever feel nervous about being the new kid on the block. We’ve all been there before and welcome our new recruits with open arms. AWF is about community as much as it is about getting fit and feeling great.

Experienced Boxing and Muay Thai require trained technique. If you have prior experience, in which case you can email the Head Coach explaining what you’ve done. Or you can view each session descriptions of what is expected;

We are currently an 18+ establishment. However, we are introducing some new sessions for teens. Check ‘em out online, join our mailing list, or swing us an email. Follow Alternative Girls Fitness on Insta and Facey.
Wear what you feel awesome in and that you allows you to move comfortably. We see a lot of band tees kicking around AWF, so feel free to rep your favourite with pride.
Jeans are generally not a great idea, purely for the fact you can’t move around and sweat in ‘em so good. But do bring some extra layers, especially in that colder weather, as once you stop sweating sometimes you need to rug up.
Footwear needs to be something that gives you support and is easy to nip around in. Sneakers, runners, joggers – though for some classes, like Yoga for Rockers, you only need socks or bare feet.
Individual session descriptions online will tell you what’s best to rock up in. We’ll also send you guide when you make your booking.
We supply mats, equipment and a rad environment, though please bring your own toweland water bottle.
If there’s anything extra required, we’ll let you know in the individual session descriptions.
If you have a serious condition, some sessions may not be suitable. We encourage you to get the all clear from your professional before jumping into anything. You can always feel free to discuss your concerns with the trainer, to see if the class will be suitable. Any questions, we’d love to hear from you so just flick us an email.
Training during pregnancy should be practiced with caution, due to all the changes going on in your body growing that bebe. First, check with your doctor, midwife, or professional and get the all clear. Some sessions/ movements are off the cards if you’re pregnant. If you’re unsure, send us an email with your query.
Please always let your trainer know if you’ve got a bun in the oven or are planning pregnancy. We are here to look after you, no matter your situation.
