AWF & friends: Alternative Women’s Fitness and Rainbow Fitness
Alternative Women’s Fitness
Alternative Women’s Fitness provides group fitness classes that are alternative to those found at a gym. We offer women-only classes that are welcoming and encouraging to all women, especially those who may not feel comfortable in a mainstream gym environment. Our sessions have a strong emphasis on socialising and fun. Our classes are concept-based, unique, and held to an alternative rock, punk, metal or retro soundtrack. At AWF we seek to instil confidence in women, assist them in making new friends, and encourage them to move. Weight loss and aesthetics are irrelevant to AWF.
Rainbow Fitness provides group fitness classes that are alternative to those found at a gym. We offer movement classes that are welcoming and encouraging to all genders, especially LGBTIQA+ and the non-binary. Our sessions have a strong emphasis on socialising and fun. Our classes are concept-based, unique, and held to a variety of soundtracks, including disco, groove, retro-pop and alt-pop. At Rainbow Fitness we seek to instil body positivity in people of all types. We use strictly gender-neutral language and are aware of the issues sounding gender dysmorphia and queer bodies.
As a Master Trainer you will coach and facilitate one-hour group fitness sessions to a diverse group of individual clients. You will be required to demonstrate exercises providing varying options for clients of different fitness levels. All classes must include a warm-up and cool-down, and be carried out to a mutually agreed soundtrack and concept.
You will specialise either in Pilates and mat-based classes, focusing on floor exercises for building core strength; or in strength training, focusing on free weights and bodyweight work; both with a customer focused approach.
You will ensure all of your classes are safe and nurturing environments. You will follow our language policies (swearing = fine, prejudiced language = NO), retention policies, and non-smoking policies.
